Interview with Idromeno’ is a color photograph taken inside a space within the National Gallery of Art in Tirana. The artist is sitting on a chair at the center of this surreal atmosphere, in front of a beam of light that enters the room through a small window. This same beam touches the edge of a symbolic painting from the Albanian renaissance; Kol Idromeno’s “Wedding in Shkodra” from the early 1900s. The original frame from the painting was later used to frame this photo.

Comarade Vaso is a portrait photo of the artist called Vaso, who was going through a fantastic phase where he thought he was the figure of a martial dictator. He appears wearing a red leather jacket and sergeant hat. As part of a work in progress dealing with the frames of the old archives at the National Gallery, I discovered the frame that held the important 60s painting of the dictator, Enver Hoxha wearing military attire. I then used this same frame for my photograph of Comarade Vaso.

The Monument is a site-specific intervention, which took place inside the house where dictator Enver Hoxha lived and worked. This soft structured sculpture becomes a reaction piece to the dictator’s own statue, which stood for 5 consecutive years within the pyramidal mausoleum in the center of Tirana, before it was destroyed for good. This work acts as a living sculpture. The performance takes place underneath the white fabric covering the lounger found in his critical decision-making room.

Leninism no more deals with several neglected works from realism socialism, found in lost places. Part of this work is documenting the relocation of these works from the locations where they were found to a gallery space, where they could continue to be conserved. In the midst of unknown anonymous figures of socialist workers, sits the half-bust portrait of Lenin. He stands out in all grandiosities and forms. The random positioning of the workers curates an entirely indicative space

Nat Flag is a black ink intervention on the print of a 60s painting, that shows the embroidering on the national flag, which is the symbol of our declaration of independence.

Invasion is a computer rendering of a collage that documents a day in the field of a village, where sport enthusiasts perform tricks using lightweight flying equipment. Their presence in this field would always turn into an unusual event for the residents of the area, especially for the kids. The chaos that was created within the the perimeter enclosing the curious spectator and the adventurer, turned into a confronting parody between information and ignorance, curiosity and arrogance.

The three figures of Sodoma is a triptych showing three grotesque figures that are dressed in toreador costumes and festive extravagant children’s masks. This work deals with the phenomena of egocentrism and abuse of power. Itis inspired by Pasolini’s cinematographic work – 120 days of Sodom, where during the course of 120 days, a group of aristocrats brutally abuse a large group of unprotected adolescents while attesting to the hidden world of intrigues prevalent among the bureaucracy

The slogans propagated the power of the communist party and dictatorship of the proletariat through their inspiring and solemn manifestation. For this project I have created my own slogans by modifying the subject, as an example: the word (party) for (art) thus completely changing the sense of the slogan by turning it into an imaginary art propaganda,
